PRACTICE AREAS

Contempt / Enforcement

Sometimes it is necessary to take legal action to ensure both parties follow the provisions of a court order or judgment.  A party’s non-compliance with a court order can be a frustrating experience.  Fortunately, there are things I can do to help.  Different types of non-compliance trigger different remedies.  For example, if a party does not pay child support, the remedy may be a wage withholding order, whereas failure to follow a parenting schedule may require a motion for contempt.  I can help you evaluate the best manner and time to pursue enforcement of the terms of your judgment or order.
